Raised in a scheduled caste community in a remote village in Maharashtra, she had never seen the world outside her village.
With limited resources and financial constraints, the dream of a career seemed too distant. However, with dedicated mentorship, skill training and counselling, Sonali began to see beyond the confines of her circumstances. She learned invaluable skills and navigated life’s challenges with confidence.
Today, Sonali stands tall as an independent woman, working as a nurse at a city hospital.
From not having the right direction in life to enlightening other students as the ‘Best Nursing Student’, she is now an independent woman with dreams. She has learned to embrace life, making her parents proud of her achievements.

When Rahul was 10, his alcoholic father left his family, leaving them struggling to make ends meet. As a teenager, Rahul started working at a brick kiln to support his family.
Despite the constant financial burden, his curious mind nurtured dreams. Wires, batteries and motors – he would collect them all and open electric items.
With the help of Pahal’s skill training and mentoring, Rahul turned his passion into a career. His hard work paid off and he’s opened his own repair shop near Mumbai after working at a shop for some time.
Facing adversity, Rahul learned to enjoy life and pursue his aspirations. He has successfully built a home for his family and is determined to lift them out of poverty. From a humble beginning to lofty ambitions, he is proving the power of self-confidence.

In the depths of hardship, Sandeep built his life again.
The challenges he faced during the lockdown—a lost job, financial struggles, and the tragic loss of a friend—tested his resilience to the core.
Through Pahal’s support and counselling sessions, Sandeep found a lifeline amidst the chaos. After the lockdown, he joined the electrician course at Pahal and now works as an Electrician at a construction company. He has become a solid support system for his mother and continues to learn new courses to land a better job.

Bharti’s story is one of courage and the power of self-liberation. Trapped in an abusive marriage, Bharti stood up, healed her trauma and worked hard for her happy career.
After leaving her husband, there were questions and uncertainty. But sometimes, some support goes a long way. On opening up at Pahal, she began to find her answers and build her future.
She completed a nursing course at Pahal and received proper counselling to overcome her fears. Empowered by mentorship, Bharti found independence and happiness in serving people at a local hospital as a nurse.
As she takes control of her life, her story is a reminder that there’s no obstacle when you dare to fight.

After completing 12th grade, Faizan bravely took on the demanding job at his family’s fruit shop to support his family, battling inner turmoil and an identity crisis.
Despite not having a clear direction, he didn’t lose hope and hustled hard. After counselling and a psychometric test by Pahal, he enrolled in the RAC (refrigeration and Air conditioning) course. Despite health challenges, he juggled work and studies with incredible dedication, covering his course fees.
With courage and relentless perseverance, Faizan transformed from a shy young man into a confident technician, boldly taking on projects independently.
His journey is a powerful testament to resilience and hope. Today, he not only excels in his role but also aspires to further his education, inspiring many others.

Sandhya’s story is an example of resilience and the triumph of the human spirit amidst challenges. When her father passed away she was just fourteen, she bravely shouldered her family’s responsibilities while also battling depression.
As a trans-woman, she faced the world’s disrespect but with unwavering courage. With the right encouragement, guidance, and skill support from Pahal, her life took a positive turn as she was placed in Amazon. Sandhya now feels confident and respected and enjoys her workplace.
Today, she and her mother live comfortably and happily together and she is proud of her identity as a trans-woman.
Having completed 3 years in her role, she looks forward to more opportunities in the future. Sandhya’s story is a beacon of hope, illustrating that with support, one can overcome any obstacle and achieve greatness.
